Editorial Policy — How Digi Trendz Reports Cybersecurity News

Editorial Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Digi Trendz is committed to publishing accurate, timely, and fair cybersecurity journalism. This page explains how we research, write, verify, and correct our content.

1. Primary Sources First

Every article is grounded in primary sources:

  • Official breach notifications (company press releases, SEC filings, GDPR notifications)
  • Government advisories: CERT-In (India), NCSC (UK), CISA (USA), NCA, Saudi CITC
  • Established cybersecurity researchers and publications: Krebs on Security, BleepingComputer, The Hacker News, Recorded Future, Mandiant, Rapid7
  • Court records, regulatory filings, and law enforcement releases

We do not publish information sourced solely from social media without independent verification.

2. Scam Alert Verification

Before publishing a scam alert we verify:

  1. At least two independent reports from credible sources or affected users
  2. The scam mechanism is technically plausible and consistent with known attack methods
  3. A government authority or cybersecurity firm has confirmed or is investigating the threat

Unverified tip-offs are investigated but not published until confirmed.

3. Data Breach Reporting

Breach articles follow these principles:

  • We report breaches disclosed by the affected company or confirmed by a security researcher
  • We do not link to, download, or verify stolen data sets — this protects victims’ privacy
  • We clearly state what is confirmed vs. alleged
  • We include actionable steps readers should take

4. AI-Assisted Research

Some Digi Trendz articles are drafted with AI assistance and then fact-checked and edited by our team. AI is used to speed up research synthesis — not to replace verification. All published claims are checked against the sources listed in each article.

5. Affiliate Links

Some product reviews and tool recommendations contain affiliate links. This never influences our editorial verdicts. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

6. Corrections Policy

If we publish an error, we correct it promptly and transparently. Significant corrections are noted at the top of the article with the date of correction. We do not silently edit published articles to remove errors. To report an error, contact us.

7. Independence

Digi Trendz has no ownership ties to any cybersecurity vendor. Advertisers have no influence over editorial content. Sponsored content, if any, is labelled “Sponsored” or “Paid Partnership” clearly.

8. Privacy of Sources

We protect the identity of confidential sources. Whistleblowers and researchers who request anonymity are never named without explicit permission.
